Survey SAYS!!!!

It seems as though our opinions are needed! Let's see if we can make sense of a variety of surveys needed for a variety of sources.

Student Survey
The school improvement team, which has been working through our accreditation process, has asked each teacher to lead their students through a Student Survey. This is a paper/pencil survey. I will copy enough surveys for the students in your class and put them in classroom teacher boxes. These surveys must be completed, please, by Friday, May 6th.

Teacher Survey
While we're talking to teaching staff for the moment, teachers are asked to please complete this survey online (this was previously communicated in an email from Dan Vos). Please complete this survey by May 6th as well.

Staff Survey
If you are not considered a "teacher" in the traditional sense, please complete this survey by May 6th.

ESS Survey
Still with me? Our ESS department is reflecting on current programming with the goal of growing and improving services. Dan Meester has invited the Christian Learning Center to help in this process. They have asked that ALL staff, teaching and non-teaching, complete a survey about our ESS program from your perspective. This survey is a paper/pencil survey. I will place it in your box. Please be honest and as thorough as you are able. You may place the completed surveys in the envelope on the staff center table and cross your name off the list on the envelope. THIS survey will need to be completed by Thursday, May 5th, at the end of the day.

Discovery Assessment
Please note that the Discovery Assessment window begins on Monday, May 9 and runs through Friday, May 20.

Data Meetings
Please refer to the calendar for our last data meeting times next week.

Assessment Day
Any objections to an assessment day on Tuesday, May 17?

Flinging Through Spring

I hereby do solemnly swear that I will NEVER again bake a thing for our snack:

Doesn't this look like a doable idea?

Pat, while we are going through the motions tomorrow, please know that Jay, you and your kids will be in our prayers and on our hearts. May God guide the team of doctors' hands and grant them the wisdom they need to restore Jay's heart to healthy condition. May you feel God's peace throughout this process.

Data Meetings
Please mark your calendars for the upcoming data meetings:

Kindergarten: 11:30 on Monday, May 2
First Grade: 12:45 on Tuesday, May 3
Second Grade: 12:45 on Thursday, May 5

Discovery Assessment
Our next window for assessment will be May 9-20. Our first graders and second graders will take the reading and math assessment.

Parent Team Luncheon
Our parent team would like to feed us again. Bless them! Please don't bring a lunch on Tuesday, May 17.

Field Day
Chris has landed on Field Day date. We will have field day on May 31. She will give us the details as they are available.

Preschool Graduation
Our preschool students will be graduating the week of May 23. If you are intending to use the gym space for any events, please double check the calendar.

Batons
If you have a new student who has joined your class or a student who is missing their baton, would you please complete a class grid indicating students who need batons. It would be helpful if you could please get this list to Pat by Wednesday, April 27 so she can have this in order before she leaves to care for Jay.

Time cards are due Monday, April 25 by noon, please.

Starting the Final Lap

Now you know why I LOVE when you ask me to sub in your classes. I'm going to need to get that "teacher fix" with somebody's kids next year (Sorry for my blubberiness).

Collaboration Days

Society Meeting
So you're aware, the annual society meeting will be held at the high school on April 21 from 7:00-8:30. I'll be there too :)

MLK Jr. Day 2017
Ruby Bridges? Simulation? Let's keep thinking and dreaming so we can offer our children a unique experience. We meet again for a staff meeting on Thursday, May 19. Let's set aside a "brain dump" session on what type of experiential learning we could offer our children on MLK Jr. Day next year.

Moving April 27 Chapel to May 4 please, due to Kid Town overtaking the gym space during the week of April 25.

Batons
Try to keep those things little buggers in mind.

Data Meetings and please complete quarter 3 data spreadsheets
Here's what we decided for scheduling our grade level data meetings:

  • Monday, May 2 over lunch
  • Tuesday, May 3 during encore
  • Thursday, May 5 during encore

Contracts
If you've received a contract (more are on the way) please sign and seal your contract and put it in my box or on my desk by Friday, April 22.
