Just a few of the moments that cause my breath to catch: God's timing for Kim's talk expressing His message "You are just enough." Give of your gifts and you provide the consistency when a family in your care might not be able. This is partnership. God's hand is holding us and renewing strength!
In writing workshop, Michael shared a story with Karen VM that he had written. She had delivered a mini-lesson about writing a story with a strong lead. His lead was "There are many things you can do if your mom has cancer". Together, they shared with each other their experience in the difficulties in life, an understanding and pain they both know all too well right now. They talked about God's strength and comfort that can be found and shared in His word. They talked about using the words of Psalm 23 to calm the worried hearts of those they love. God's hand is holding us and providing comfort!
Bruce Hekman's wife was given the same diagnosis as Michelle's mom. He stated that he and his wife felt the power of prayer in deep and new ways throughout the trial. He and his wife felt calm in the storm and confidence in His promises. Their faith was renewed with a purpose and their witness to His grace was true. We pray this calmness and confidence over Michelle's family too, and Michelle sees it shining in her mom's eyes. God's hand is holding us and offering hope!
We are not asked to understand. We are asked to trust. How comforting to see that God is here with the ones that we love in the midst of hardships. He answers prayers. He holds His people. I pray that we will always have eyes that are open to see Jesus as we journey through the ups and downs of this life on earth, until we are surrounded with His glory one day in Heaven!
Thank you for the extra hours and work you have poured into assessing, into report cards and into Discovery Night. May God do great things with the fruits of our labor!

Look at that. In the midst of all of these events you are leading your students through a time of the year when learning and growth can really take off for many! My hat is off to you and all that you do. Thank you for touching lives, for modeling God's grace and love, for growing children, for developing your craft and smiling while you do it. You are a gift and a blessing to many! Enjoy the weekend! Karen S, do I need to say it? You and Tom are banned from extreme sports this weekend! Put your feet up and read a book! Learn to knit! Something to help you get out of the fog ;) Blessings everyone!
